Advanced Studies in England

Semester/Full Year Program

ASESemester

Come and study for a fifteen-week semester, or two-semester 'full year' in the beautiful World Heritage City of Bath, 90 minutes west of London.

We offer courses in a wide range of liberal arts subjects, in particular creative writing, English literature and history. Through strong connections with University College Oxford and other institutions we can also offer a 'bespoke', tailor-made tutorial in almost any subject not based in a laboratory.

Students take four courses, taught over twelve weeks by UK professors in small seminar group (maximum of 13 students) or one-on-one, Oxford-style tutorials. We also have a very strong internship program, with opportunities to work in local organisations such as the Roman Baths Museum, The Holburne Museum of Art, 44AD Art Space and Gallery, Suited and Booted independent Filmmakers, the Rondo Theatre, and many others. We also run a successful education program, incorporating a classroom placement in a local school.

Students are housed in historic townhouses throughout the city center, within easy walking distance of the Roman Baths, the Abbey, galleries, museums, and an array of pubs and restaurants, theatres and music venues.

The program includes a week-long residential at University College, Oxford, and a three-day stay in Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of playwright and poet, William Shakespeare. The program also offers extensive opportunities for extra-curricular integration with British students (Bath has two universities) and the local community.
